What is EarthCheck?
It is an international organization dedicated to environmental preservation and certifies businesses supporting sustainable tourism.
At Velas Vallarta, we have established an environmental policy that reflects our commitment to the environment and the community. Our actions include:
- Solid waste is meticulously separated for recycling glass, cardboard, plastic, metal, organic products, and toxic materials.
- Water is preheated by solar panels installed on the roof of the property.
- Cleaning and maintenance products used are biodegradable.
- Our gardens are naturally fertilized with compost generated from organic waste from restaurants.
- Protection of sea turtles: every turtle on our beach is monitored, the nests are relocated to the turtle camp, and detailed records of dates and quantities are maintained.
- There is a collection container for alkaline batteries, which are sent for treatment to avoid environmental contamination.
- Used cooking oil is poured into a particular container for recycling, preventing residues from ending up in our seas and rivers.
